About GMBD, LLC and WrapCycle
GMBD, LLC, also doing business as "WrapCycle," produces a number of practical, attractive, and environmentally-friendly products. Our products are handmade in Atlanta, Georgia, using 100% used fabric and reclaimed fabric remnants. Padded
products, such as LapTopWraps, are lined with either reused heavy-duty plastic wrap (used for moving furniture) or reused carpet padding, to protect against bumps and moisture. The only new materials are the thread, and sometimes a small piece
of velcro, or 5 inches of elastic on the pocket.
All our products are made to be sturdy as well as attractive, featuring double- and triple-stitching at seams and other points of contact or wear-and-tear; use of heavy-duty thread; and professional sewing on commercial machines.

How We Got Started
Nancy Gray ("Mom") deserves the credit for the original design. In December 2008, she was invited by Janet and Dominique Michal to come to their home in
Atlanta for Christmas. Janet had gotten her an iPod Shuffle and asked her to bring her laptop so that she could be set up on iTunes, transfer songs, and so on. When
Nancy pulled her laptop out of her bag, it was wrapped in a blue case that caught Janet's eye.
"Where did you get that case?" she asked.
"Oh, that?" replied Nancy, nonchalantly. "I made it."
Janet took a closer look. "What's it made of?"
"Just some material I had in the house."
It made a crinkly sound when Janet turned it over in her hands. "What's inside?"
Janet called it to Dominique's attention. "Look at what Mom made."
Dominique looked it over. "Nancy, you could sell this!"
"Pooh," she said. "Who would buy that?"

The Wider GMBD Community
A little company like this doesn't get started without a lot of help. We created this section to thank the many people who have been instrumental in launching us this far;
we expect to continue to expand this section.
Big, big thanks to:
Our beta testers, also known as Janet and Dominique's children: Thibault, Marie, and Mathieu Michal, and Jessie and Sarah Lucey. They shouldered the early prototypes of
the LapTopWraps and gave us extremely valuable feedback. Extra credit to Thibault for the unusual "vertical" Wrap design.
Lara Nagler, Oberlin College class of 2009, environmental visionary extraordinaire who saw the value of LapTopWraps before they even existed, gave us our first
batch of recycled fabric, and helped us hold the first-ever sale on Earth Day 2009 on the Oberlin College campus.
Miranda Fisher, Oberlin College class of 2012, who created our super-cute LapTopWrap logo, working only for fun and the occasional restaurant meal.
Kathy Reed, executive director of Keep North Fulton Beautiful, who enthusiastically provided us our first reliable source of recycled bubblewrap and fabric, as well
as a wealth of good advice and Atlanta-area resources.
Jean Shannon, sewing process consultant, for helping us to improve and streamline some of our construction processes.
